Show status

When

Shows start at 7:00PM every day and run every 30 minutes ending with the final show at 10:30PM. Each show lasts for 18-20 minutes allowing you to move on to the next lights show without upsetting the kids if you need to.

Parking

Please do not stop in the corner, I know it’s tempting but you’re welcome to park up and join us on the grass.

There are 3 parking bays back along Goldencrest Street, and 3 more bays down Buttercup Close. We don’t currently have any elements in our driveway so you’re also welcome to park there, however, we might need to get you to move in the unlikely event we need to go somewhere.

Beyond that, you’re welcome to park legally and safely anywhere.

Access

My chief concern is making sure you’re safe and having fun, please don’t cross into the yard by yourself. While the props are not super fragile or hard to repair there are trip hazards and I would absolutely hate to see you run into one of the 4 steel guy wires for the tree as funny as that might be to watch on the security cameras (Note: If you do, I’ll have to upload the video in 4k to youtube 😃)

If you’re interested and you spot me I’m happy to take people on short guided tours “behind the lines” as it were, just be warned, I don’t know when to stop talking.

2023

New props - Talking/Singing Bulbs

Budgets being tighter this year we weren’t able to add much to the display, a single strip of lights to replace the dying 8 year old white rope light and 4 new talking/singing lightbulbs made from spare parts left over from last year

Mozzie Repellent

With the mysterious death of all our minty bushes over the past couple of years we seem to have become a welcome home for mosquitos, they’re not super numerous but they are very aggressive… We burn 3 mozzie coils per night when it’s not raining. In order to provide extra protection I went ahead and knocked out a nice repellent spray post

2022

First storm

On the 7th of December we got our first real storm of the season, this is some of the aftermath, nothing major. The spiral tree just popped right out of the ground and laid down. The U from the Tune To took flight though, it was out of here

Replacing broken pixels

Sadly, nothing is forever, pixels break, these are brand new pixels from this year, we’ve lost 2 now, it seems the epoxy is failing and they’re leaking.

2021

Bulb Covers

For the most part, we run without covers on bulbs but we run two variations of a cover styled after the venerable c9 (just smaller). On the spiral trees I wanted to put the covers on because the pixels point up so it seemed like the best way to get the most light out of them On our stars we have a spikier flavour of bulbs.
